/sound: improvisation 2: electric boogaloo

This may start to become a series, because making these is just too much fun.  This was done with the same setup, same tools as last night’s, but with the drums added.  It’s also good to note that this one didn’t crash my software – I think the trick to managing over 30 loopers is to clear the loops from memory as soon as they become obsolete.  It’s kind of like whack-a-mole on the Launchpad at the moment… gotta be an easier way to maneuver that.

There were certainly a bundle of duds in between last night’s recording and this one – it’s moderately terrifying that the make-or-break has so far been the first couple of minutes.  If the beginning isn’t workable, the whole improv muddies itself into the sonic equivalent of ice cream and mayonnaise hot dogs transposed three octaves down to the pits of hell.  But if my run at the show on Thursday is anything like this one, I should be happy.

I also ought to get around to publishing the post that explains the impetus for this whole project…
